Background & Experience:
Many were first-time baseball players experiencing an organized tournament for the first time
Others had prior experience in leagues/tournaments such as USBA, Healing As One, Variable Academy’s first baseball tournament, Salam Cup, and school teams
Mix of high school students, post-secondary students, unemployed participants, and employed players (including plumbers, TTC staff, HVAC workers, site supervisors, and City of Toronto staff)
What They Wanted:
Have fun and enjoy a summer community event
Play with friends and strengthen bonds
Meet new people and expand community ties
Improve skills or stay active for personal health

Representation:
Predominantly East African and Black/African American participants, alongside Caribbean, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern, North African, and Native American representation
Second annual one-day tournament & BBQ at Riverdale Park West.
5 teams competed with high energy from players and fans.
BBQ created a fun, community festival vibe.
Mix of first-time and returning players kept competition exciting.
