These lived experiences have shaped his deep commitment to empowering youth facing similar challenges. As a certified ESL teacher with CELTA and TESOL CAN & ON certifications, and a current Bachelor of Education student at York University, Abdullahi combines academic training with firsthand understanding of the issues impacting underserved communities. His strong roots in the neighborhood and longstanding connections with local youth allow him to relate authentically and build trust, making him a powerful advocate and mentor. Through his role at Variable Academy, Abdullahi leverages his lived experience and educational expertise to develop programs that speak directly to the realities of the youth he serves, creating pathways to opportunity through education, technology, and sport.
